THE CEREMONY

“We are both major family people, and we just adore each other’s mentions Shannon.” The traditional ceremony was held within the towering nave of Saint Juliana Catholic Church. Decorated minimally with seasonal foliage, the couple was married before a packed house of family and friends.

THE INSPO

The couple kept it timeless throughout their styling direction and wanted a black and white-themed wedding. “My mom found Arilynn Events online, and instantly I fell in love with their brass candlesticks and had to have them, but we found out that the venue has a strict no open flame policy and would you know Arilynn events has the cylinders on hand as well. They really made the good old-fashioned, black-tie party theme possible.

THE DRESS

“My wedding dress was the very first one I tried on. I immediately fell in love with it at Vera Wang but didn’t want to settle too soon. I tried on a number of other dresses across the Gold Coast, and another boutique online but ended up coming back for that very first one. No other dress gave me that romantic, but modern and flirty bridal feel. When I put it on I immediately felt myself in it.”

“This was where our incredible wedding planners came in. The BEST investment! Alison from Designed and Detailed made everything an absolute breeze. Having them ensured our family got to relax throughout the entire wedding day. They mainly organized our key vendors. I would show some inspiration from Pinterest/Instagram, and Alison would find a vendor who was able to do it.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT

“One of our favorite moments from the day was entering the reception. Galleria Marchetti has a beautiful space with the most gorgeous lighting. The tables were done so perfectly, and we couldn’t wait to pour champagne down the champagne tower, which we did during our grand entrance and toasted with our wedding party.”
